Due to prolonged works at Mariinsky, this production was premiered at Bolshoi Kamenny nearby. The second cast featured Emilia Karlovna Pavlovskaya in the role of Carmen for only a few performances. Libretto translated into Russian by Alexandra Santagano-Gorchakova.
